The cosmonaut's last message to the woman he once loved in the former Soviet Union
Theatre poster for a play by David Greig. The play tells the story of two Soviet cosmonauts stranded aboard their space station without any contact with earth. It was inspired by the real-life story of Soviet cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev who was trapped on board Mir during the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
I was inspired by the very long title. The idea behind it was that people don't have to be able to read it in full anyway, because everyone would abbreviate the title. And since the cosmonaut's message gets lost in space in the play, I was able to visualise this perfectly by pixelating it and making it illegible.
